Third Trimester!

 

So we are at week 28 - which means I am now in my 3rd trimester!! Officially 84 days (from Jan. 7th) til my due date, March 31st, which happens to be EASTER this year!! She weighs approximately two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures about 15 inches from the top of her head to her heels!  This is what little Kathryn probably looks like in my belly this week.(Info and image from www.babycenter.com)



 I know I just did a post 2 weeks ago, but I went to the Dr. on Jan. 2nd for my 4 week check-up and I just wanted to update! Heartbeat sounds very strong and right on target. They gave me a prescription for rhogam, which is a shot I have to take since I have A- blood type. I also had my Glucose Tolerance Test, in which I had to drink this Fruit Punch drink:

 

(which to my surprise - wasn't that bad!) I had to drink it all in less than 5 minutes, wait an hour, then they were going to test my glucose levels. I found out the very next day that I got a 103, which I had to ask because I don't know what that score means. Anything under 140 is normal, so I am good to go and no gestational diabetes for this girl! So very thankful for that! Eating healthy and drinking my recommended water has really paid off because genetically and physically speaking - I had those two things working against me, so I was literally preparing for it. SO YAY!

 

 



How far along: 28 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: loss of 22 lbs.

Maternity clothes? Yes. I still have one pair of jeans I can fit into and one T-shirt comfortably, otherwise I'm in maternity clothes.

Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: I STOPPED using my body pillow and my hip pain and back pain has subsided! Weird, I know, but whatever works.

Best moment this week:  Finding out that I do NOT have gestational diabetes and that I am growing a very healthy baby girl inside me!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Woodchuck Cider and other alcoholic beverages.

Movement: Yes, she is moving around constantly!

Food cravings: Real Authentic Mexican, cold lunch meat, tired of getting my subs toasted!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really.

Have you started to show yet: Yes :)

Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: Nope, maybe some Braxton Hicks, but nothing major.
Belly Button in or out? still in
Wedding rings on or off? On during the day.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! (just getting anxious to meet our little baby girl!!)
Looking forward to: Nursery is ALMOST finished, just need some more things on the wall and wash all her little baby clothes - but I'm not doing that quite yet.

I wanted to add a comparison photo from 1st trimester to 3rd trimester thus far!

 

As you can see, I was 12 weeks in the 1st picture and I am 28 weeks in the 2nd picture - definate change in belly (and boobs! lol) Funny because both pictures were taken in the nursery....the 1st pic was taken in the nursery before we painted and the 2nd was after we painted. :) Yay for progression!

Our next appointment is February 5th and we will have another ultrasound to found out the  precise weight and height of Kathryn... will she be measuring ahead or right on schedule? We shall see!
